Aquila Clean Energy has a strong local presence in Italy, believing that local, on-site management teams are key to the company’s operations.
Local team
Stamatis Vournelis leads Aquila Clean Energy’s project development and construction business for solar, wind, and energy storage in Italy and Greece. Stamatis joined Aquila Group in 2021 and has more than 25 years of professional experience. He has actively participated in the development, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of numerous renewable energy and infrastructure projects of various sizes and complexities across Greece, the Balkans, and the Middle East.
Francesca Pisco is responsible for development activities for portfolios in Italy. She has been in the renewable energy sector since 2010. Prior to joining Aquila Clean Energy in 2021 she worked as Project Manager and developer for key energy companies in Italy.
Elena Macchi is responsible for the Italian legal advisory in relation to the development of the company’s assets. She has been in the renewable energy sector since 2008. Prior to joining Aquila Clean Energy in 2022, she worked as Senior Counsel and Senior Associate for various top tier international law firms.
Management
Andrew joined Aquila Group in 2015 and has over 15 years’ experience in infrastructure and energy investing. Since Februrary 2024, he is leading Aquila Clean Energy EMEA as CEO and as such, has overall responsibility for the performance and development of the company.
Dorothee Privat joined Aquila Clean Energy in 2024 and is in charge of Finance. With in-depth insights and by monitoring the company’s data and numbers, her team helps driving our strategic decisions, as well as serving our external stakeholders with crucial financial information. Dorothee has over 18 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
Marc Lohoff leads the project delivery team across EMEA and as such, he is responsible for the engineering, construction and procurement activities for the Aquila Clean Energy EMEA portfolio. He has been in the renewable energies sector since 2009.
Sebastian Krull is responsible for our development and construction activities in Central and Northern Europe, incl. Germany. Sebastian has been in the renewable energy sector since 2014.
